Reporting to the Director of Patient Access Liaisons – the Area Patient Access Liaison (PAL) is a leadership role within Viridian’s Patient Services team and is responsible for executing strategies that enhance patient access to Viridian therapies by minimizing access barriers and ensuring a consistent, compliant, and high-quality support experience for patients. The Area PAL also provides logistical and non-medical education to patients, caregivers, physicians, nurses, office, and infusion center staff. The Area PAL will be the subject matter expert for the PAL role and responsibilities. This role is fully remote and covers the West regions. Travel for meetings and customer engagements may be required at the discretion of management.
10+ years of experience in biotech/pharmaceuticals, preferably in Patient Services as a patient-facing contributor Bachelor’s degree required, RN preferred Proven success as a field-based team member (e.g., FRM, PAL, Market Access) Strong understanding of payer dynamics, specialty pharmacy, HUB models, and overcoming access challenges Expertise in rare disease or specialty therapeutics is a plus Strong business acumen, communication, and analytical skills Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills Proven mindset of proactive continuous improvement Efficient independent worker with ability to focus and drive for results Strong attention to detail Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to handle multiple tasks Strong commitment to ethical standards Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.) Ability to travel up to 50% The salary range for this position is commensurate with experience
Member of the PAL leadership team Will provide training and mentoring for the PAL Team Act as main contact for PAL team with Viridian contracted Specialty Pharmacies Deliver training of ViridianCares with internal and external employees where appropriate Collaborate on the development and roll-out of tools, resources, and best practices working with Market Access, Sales, Marketing, Legal, Compliance, HUB Services, and external stakeholders Partner with internal teams to support product launches, payer policy changes, and patient support initiatives Assist with overflow of patients within specific territories at launch as needed Provide PTO coverage for PALs, as needed Provide assistance with expansion or vacant territories, as needed Deliver in-service requests to infusion centers Act as PAL team CRM subject matter expert Contribute to launch planning for any future Viridian product launches Help develop and facilitate PAL training initiatives for onboarding and future needs In addition, the Area PAL will provide the following when covering or assisting with a PAL territory: Serve as the primary point of contact for patients and caregivers for supplemental education and questions related to medication access and administration of Viridian therapies Educate patients, healthcare professionals and infusion center staff on insurance coverage and the process for obtaining therapy Coordinate treatment with physicians, infusions centers, pharmacies and payers to prioritize the needs, experiences, and well-being of patients and document in CRM
