Nurse Informatician

This is a specialty position that integrates nursing science, computer science, and information science to manage and communicate data, information, knowledge, and wisdom in clinical practice to support all patient care applications at AMC Health. Facilitates data integration, information, and knowledge to support patients, nurses, other clinical team members and providers in their decision-making in all roles and settings. This support is accomplished through the use of information structures, information processing, and information technology. This role will focus on the design, structure, and presentation of information and how these issues impact clinician decision-making. This positions functions as the primary IT clinical end-user contact for the department. This post reflects an opening for a Nurse Informatician. We are seeking candidates for that position.

Coordinates the collection/recording and analysis of data relevant to the care of patients. Vets the proposed workflows with appropriate leadership, departments, and appropriate committees or workgroups. Assures that analysis and workflows address evidence-based and regulatory requirements. Implements clinical tools with a focus on continuous improvement to ensure efficient workflows that allow staff to make the best care easier for our patients. Participates as a content expert for the framework that surrounds the clinical processes for assessment, diagnosis, patient and family education, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluations in primary application. Articulates the informatics needs to their leadership, Product, Reporting, IT staff and articulates the system functionality and limitations to clinical staff. Assist with the Development of dashboards, reports, and data visualizations for leadership and operational teams. Use informatics tools to monitor quality metrics and patient safety indicators and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Communicates effectively with other team members, end users, outside vendors, supervisor, and leadership. Reinforces with end users the importance of following AMC Health policies related to privacy, compliance, and safety. Assists with preparing training materials and training of end users and super users, working closely with the management team and the Lead Clinical Trainer. Mentors nursing staff through implementation and updates of the applications and electronic medical record. Participates in vendor review and selection process. Work is typically performed remotely.
