Quality Assurance Registered Nurse will be accountable for reviewing, editing and completing quality documentation of patient medical documentation, ensuring all regulatory and best practice quality documentation, survey readiness of documentation, measuring, monitoring, and managing quality of patient documentation, as well as achievement of key performance indicators. Expert source for Medicare conditions of participation, company policy, and Medicare management. This position can sit remote.
Associate or bachelorās degree in nursing preferred. Current, unencumbered license to practice as a Nurse specific to that state the employee is assigned to work by the company. Demonstrated knowledge of the appropriate skills for communicating with individuals of all ages. Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates knowledge of Federal/State rules and regulations, , NHPCO and other regulatory requirements. One (1+) year of nursing experience in a Hospice or Home Health environment. Must be familiar with general use and functions of the computer, such as, usernames and password concepts; internet; e-mail; navigation of computer desktop, including starting programs, using files, and windows, effectively use navigation buttons and toolbars; ability to self-manage online HR services and online training programs. Responsible for quality-driven review of documentation of care center staff members, including the Comprehensive Admission Assessment, starts of care, Certification of Terminal Illness, HIS and other related documents, ensuring appropriateness of care, delivery and documentation requirements are met. Ensures the assignment of the appropriate clinical pathways on the plan of care Ensures missing, incomplete, and/or untimely documentation issues are resolved. Ensures benefit periods are assigned accurately. Ensures communication of changes in the plan of care are documented completely and correctly. Participates in quality assurance activities designed to improve the quality and continuity of patient care. Performs chart audits and other activities of data collection. Responds to Additional Documentation Requests/Denials as directed. Performs chart audits as directed to monitor documentation and patient clinical records to ensure compliance with agencies policies and procedures and all regulatory inspection agencies. Keeps abreast of nursing trends and knowledge. Exceptional attention to detail Strong knowledge of regulatory guidelines and best practices Focused Quality attention Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
