Bespoke Concierge MD
Gallup Indian Medical Center (GSU), a facility under the Navajo Area Indian Health Service (NAIHS), is seeking qualified contractors to deliver remote Nurse Advice/Nurse Triage Telephone Services. This non-personal services contract supports the Indian Health Service’s mission to elevate the physical, mental, social, and spiritual health of American Indians and Alaska Natives. Registered Nurses (RNs) will provide 24/7/365 telephonic triage and health advisement using clinical guidelines and the Rapid Triage Screening (RTS) model, with secure access to GSU’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) via VPN. Work Schedule & Location: Shifting Schedule: 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, 365 days/year Location: Fully remote; services delivered via telephone and VPN access to GSU systems Contract Term: Initial 3-year period with potential for intermittent support based on evolving needs
Current, valid, unrestricted RN license in New Mexico Must include the license number in the resumé Demonstrated experience/training in nurse advice or triage services within the past 12 months Proven competencies in confidentiality, HIPAA compliance, and patient rights Additional Requirements: Cultural awareness and respectful communication with American Indian and Alaska Native populations Basic computer literacy and ability to navigate EHR systems Demonstrate language proficiency or familiarity with Native American languages—such as Navajo, Zuni, Hopi, Apache, and Ute—as well as Spanish, to support culturally sensitive communication and improve patient engagement. Post-hiring requirements: Completion of mandatory government orientation and training (e.g., ISSA, Privacy Act, Rules of Behavior) Successful completion of Level I and II background checks with favorable adjudication Adherence to the Federal Code of Conduct and Public Law 101-630 (Indian Children Protection and Family Violence Protection Act) Preferably knowledgeable in Native American languages, including Navajo, Zuni, Hopi, Apache, the Ute language, and Spanish, to enhance communication and cultural sensitivity.
Answer inbound patient calls via a dedicated toll-free number using RTS protocols Assess patient needs and determine appropriate care pathways (emergency, urgent, routine, or informational) Document all patient interactions and securely transmit records to GSU’s EHR Provide follow-up calls for high-risk patients based on GSU-defined parameters Offer culturally sensitive care and access to Navajo-English medical interpreters when requested Submit certified invoices with call logs and service attestations Participate in monthly quality reviews and customer satisfaction surveys Comply with HIPAA, Privacy Act, and IHS-specific IT security protocols
