Location: Remote / field-flexible — must be licensed in California or Nevada Engagement Type: 1099 Independent Contractor Compensation: Hourly; rate to be determined based on experience About the Role Design Wellness is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide clinical oversight and support within our wellness coaching program. The RN works alongside Health Coaches, who serve as clients' initial point of contact, to review escalated cases, answer clinical questions, and ensure clients receive safe, appropriate guidance. Key Responsibilities • Receive and respond to client cases escalated by Health Coaches that require clinical judgment. • Perform nursing assessments and provide evidence-based guidance within scope of practice. • Review client Biomarkers, health history, medications, and risk factors as needed to inform coaching plans. • Provide education to clients on biomarkers, chronic conditions, medication management, and general health topics. • Collaborate with Health Coaches and Registered Dietitians to coordinate an integrated care approach. • Identify and escalate urgent or emergent health concerns per program protocol. • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in compliance with applicable regulations. Qualifications • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California or Nevada (required). • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (ADN/BSN) from an accredited program. • Prior clinical experience; telehealth, care coordination, or wellness/coaching experience preferred. • Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills. • Comfortable working independently in a remote, contractor capacity. • Reliable internet access and a private, HIPAA-appropriate space for client interactions. Engagement Details This is a 1099 independent contractor position. The contractor is responsible for their own taxes, insurance, licensure fees, and equipment, and will set their own methods and schedule for completing deliverables consistent with program requirements. This role does not offer employee benefits. Candidates must maintain an active, unrestricted RN license in California or Nevada throughout the engagement.
