Job Description

We have an opening for an after hours Triage Nurse On Call position. This position operates evenings and weekend shifts varying between 12-16 hours per shift. The current need is for one day per week. Graduation from an accredited nursing program, two to four years of related/applicable experience preferred in OBGYN setting or Labor and Delivery hospital role and current state license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited nursing program required Must hold current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license or Licensed Practical Nurse license applicable to care center's location(s) (Indiana) 2–4 years of related experience preferred, ideally in an OB/GYN or Labor & Delivery hospital setting Experience with eClinicalWorks EMR strongly preferred Familiarity with OB/GYN or women’s health patient populations beneficial Understanding of lab order sets and CPT coding a plus Willingness to support at satellite locations if needed Required: Associates or better in Nursing. Licenses & Certifications Required: Registered Nurse

Responsibilities

Answers patient calls as soon as possible and returns all messages within a twenty minute time frame. Provides triage services for patients pursuant to practice process and outlined in On Call protocol manual. Must have secure access to personal computer, phone (cell/landline) and private confidential space to answer all calls. Assesses patient’s current medical condition and needs. Answers patient questions and provides follow up for additional services and/or schedule appointments if needed. Refills prescriptions if available and necessary. Position cannot be worked during other employment shift. Demonstrates flexibility and responsiveness in handling all customer issues. Performs all other duties as may be requested from time-to-time.
