Job Title: RN – Behavioral Health Utilization Review (UR Nurse) Location: Phoenix, AZ (Remote) - 100% remote role; candidate must report onsite once to receive equipment. Position Type: Staff Augmentation | Contract Duration: 3 Months (with possible extension) Projected Start Date: 02/16/2026 Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Position Summary: The RN – Behavioral Health Utilization Review Nurse provides monitoring, oversight, and technical assistance to ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, and statutory requirements for Fee-for-Service (FFS) and Serious Mental Illness (SMI) members. This role focuses on both behavioral health and physical/acute care services, ensuring medical necessity and appropriate utilization of covered services.

Monitor over- and under-utilization of behavioral and physical health services Conduct utilization reviews, case file reviews, and audits Ensure compliance with state, federal regulations Analyze utilization data and clinical documentation Provide technical assistance and oversight to stakeholders Coordinate care with internal and external partners Make referrals as appropriate Participate in clinical staffing and serve as a clinical resource Support medically necessary, covered services for members
