Role Description — FAST PACED 4+ patients per hour MUST HAVE ACTIVE NY LICENSE The Telemedicine Nurse Practitioner – Urgent Care role is a full-time remote position responsible for delivering virtual urgent care services to patients with a wide range of acute health concerns. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting telehealth assessments, developing differential diagnoses, and prescribing medications in accordance with clinical guidelines and regulatory requirements. The Nurse Practitioner will provide patient education, safety instructions, and clear follow-up plans, while documenting all encounters accurately and promptly in the electronic health record. The role involves collaborating with other clinicians to coordinate care, and participating in quality improvement and clinical protocol development. The position requires reliable availability for scheduled telemedicine shifts, adherence to privacy and telehealth regulations, and a commitment to compassionate, culturally sensitive care. Qualifications • Current Nurse Practitioner license in applicable state(s) and active, unrestricted national certification in Family or Adult-Gerontology; ability to obtain additional state licenses as needed. • Demonstrated clinical skills in urgent care or emergency/primary care settings, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of common acute conditions. • Experience providing telemedicine or virtual care, with proficiency in using electronic health records and secure video/communication platforms. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain clinical information clearly, provide patient education, and build rapport through virtual encounters. • Excellent critical thinking, clinical judgment, and problem-solving abilities, with a commitment to evidence-based practice and patient safety. • Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and maintain organized, accurate documentation. • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements for telehealth, including HIPAA, prescribing regulations, and scope-of-practice standards. • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends as needed, to meet patient demand in an urgent care setting. • Prior experience in family health or primary care is preferred; experience with diverse and underserved populations is beneficial. • Graduate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and current BLS/ACLS certification or willingness to obtain.
